The RAM 1500 Laramie is what happens when Americans look at a normal dual-cab ute and decide it's simply not enough. It’s big, unapologetic and commands its share of the road without needing an assortment of wings, vents or fake carbon fibre to get your attention. And despite looking capable of towing a small suburb, the RAM is remarkably civilised from behind the wheel. The HEMI delivers effortless torque, the cabin is beautifully insulated and the ride is far more refined than something this large has any right to be. Long highway trips are exactly where it shines - although finding yourself suddenly very judgmental of ordinary-sized utes is an unfortunate side effect of this product.

Inside is where the Laramie really separates itself from the traditional workhorse.
